Guildford Nursery School and Children's Centre

– Inspiring, Learning, Achieving

Welcome to Guildford Nursery School and Children’s Centre

Guildford Nursery School and Children’s Centre is committed to providing a challenging, inclusive, safe and nurturing environment where we welcome our local families with children under 5.

We celebrate diversity and individuality with everybody working together in partnership to enrich the lives of our children and families.

Guildford Nursery School and Children’s Centre aims to take an active role in improving the outcomes for our children and their families by:
• Providing local families with support, advice and opportunities to take part in a range of activities to promote the development and learning for themselves and their children

• Offering high quality, active learning with children free to explore inside and outside and to think creatively to build self-esteem and self-confidence. The environment will be safe, stimulating, inclusive and child centred
• Ensuring a strong relationship is developed between the child, the family and their key person
• Value the importance of the parents in their child’s life and work with them on their well-being and development

As a Sure Start provision, we offer nursery education and integrated care for children aged two to five years, as well as a range of high-quality services and activities for parents, carers and the local community. Do take a look around our site to find out more about us and what we can offer you and your family.

This is your centre, so if you have any ideas about how we can develop our services still further, we’d love to hear from you please use this link to contact us.

  • An outstanding provider of integrated services to children and adult users. - Ofsted 2010
  • I enjoy bringing my grandchildren to the Children’s Centre for the Family Fundays during the holidays as the Centre is secure, safe and we are always made to feel welcome. - Maria
  • It's great during the school holidays because lots of other places close down and the activities they have are suitable for older children so i can bring my three children together. - Tracy
  • The Children’s Centre is a friendly place to go. I did massage with my baby and we now have more of a bond and my confidence has increased. We regularly use the café for lunch and we’ve had some lovely days out with the Family Support team. - Kerry
  • The Centre has helped me make new friendships, given me professional and practical advice and has been somewhere welcoming and supportive which has given me the chance to establish a closer bond with my children. - Sadie
  • Guildford Children’s Centre Baby Feeding Cafe has supported me on many levels and I know it's done the same for other mums. I hope it will make a positive difference to other people in the same way it has for me. - Zoe
  • If it hadn’t been for the Centre, I wouldn’t have known where to go for advice and as far as I know it is the only place which can offer the all round support we have needed. It is accessible and flexible and always there for us – we can just drop in. - Linda
  • Lucia has always loved coming here – it’s like a second home to her. But I would say I get as much out of it as my daughter does. - Sue
  • The classes gave me more confidence as a parent, helped me through difficult patches and gave me ideas for activities I could do at home. - Susan
  • The Centre has welcomed both my sons with warmth and professionalism and they really enjoy their nursery days. One of them has significant special needs and I’ve been really impressed by the inclusive approach the Centre takes. The SEN team has gone out of their way to handle the red-tape, and focused on him as an individual and what he needs to enjoy life and learn. - Sarah
  • I started using the Hazel Avenue Children's centre after my son was born through attending the new baby group which was great for meeting other new mums as well as learning new skills including baby first aid and baby massage. The cafe became a good place to meet with other mums, especially following some of the activities run at the centre such as the buggy walk, play & learn and movers & shakers. Following this I enrolled my son into the childcare for when I returned to work. It was hard to leave him but I knew he was in good hands with the team. I would highly recommend the childcare and the facilities at Guildford Children's Centre. - Karen
  • Children make outstanding progress in their personal, social and emotional development. They are very eager to attend, behave well and show an excellent understanding of how to stay safe - Nursery School Ofsted October 2012
